Curricular structure (published at DR 2.ª série, N.º 2, 3/1/2018)

It was published on the "Diário da República" the changes to the PhD programme curricular structure. These changes were approved by the Scientific Board of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology (University NOVA Lisbon) in December 2016. They were later registered at the Directorate-General of Higher Education in July 2017 ("As alterações ao ciclo de estudos foram objeto de registo na Direção-Geral do Ensino Superior com o número R/A -Ef 3062/2011/AL01 de 6 de julho de 2017").

Curricular Structure (version 2, 2016-22)

The PhD Programme on "Technology Assessment" is organised over a 4 year structure, and the training courses are distributed during the first year with 60 ECTS like the other PhD programmes. During that period is supposed to start the research process leading to the final thesis.

Accreditation for the next 6 years approved

The Doctorate Programme on Technology Assessment at University NOVA Lisbon is from now on accredidated for the next six years by the national evaluation agency (A3ES) and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education of Portugal.
The programme now has less courses, more consistent add-on courses, two optional tracks (one on Governance on TA, and the other on Health TA) and a joint doctorate initiative with ITAS-KIT.

Scientific Board of NovaFCT approves PDAT-2

The Scientific Board of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of Universidade Nova approved the proposal sent by Department of Applied Social Sciences for restructuring the Doctoral Programme on TA (PDAT). The proposal was sent to the national Agency of High Education (A3ES).

The course structure (60 ECTS) will have less units, and is designed to be completed in one year. The other changes already announced are still in the proposal.

Restructuring of the PhD program approved at DCSA

The DCSA Department Council approved the proposal for restructuring the doctoral programme on TA. It includes a reduction in the number of compulsory disciplines, and the introduction of national and international cooperation tracks:

  1. The Joint Doctoral Initiative with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology
  2. The track on "Health Technology Assessment"
  3. The track on "Governance of Technology Assessment" with the University of Liège
