Accreditation for the next 6 years approved

The Doctorate Programme on Technology Assessment at University NOVA Lisbon is from now on accredidated for the next six years by the national evaluation agency (A3ES) and the Ministry of Science, Technology and Higher Education of Portugal.
The programme now has less courses, more consistent add-on courses, two optional tracks (one on Governance on TA, and the other on Health TA) and a joint doctorate initiative with ITAS-KIT.

Scientific Board of NovaFCT approves PDAT-2

The Scientific Board of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of Universidade Nova approved the proposal sent by Department of Applied Social Sciences for restructuring the Doctoral Programme on TA (PDAT). The proposal was sent to the national Agency of High Education (A3ES).

The course structure (60 ECTS) will have less units, and is designed to be completed in one year. The other changes already announced are still in the proposal.

Restructuring of the PhD program approved at DCSA

The DCSA Department Council approved the proposal for restructuring the doctoral programme on TA. It includes a reduction in the number of compulsory disciplines, and the introduction of national and international cooperation tracks:

  1. The Joint Doctoral Initiative with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology
  2. The track on "Health Technology Assessment"
  3. The track on "Governance of Technology Assessment" with the University of Liège

Joint Doctorate Initiative (UNL/KIT)

A cooperation protocol between the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa (UNL) and the Institute for Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis of the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), was signed in 2008 and it envisaged the promotion of the exchange of post-graduate students, the teaching/research staff mobility, common co-ordination and supervision and the education and science materials exchange, among other topics.
