Professional experience

-          Sociologist, specialized in Sociology of Labour and Organisations (1980).

-          Professor a the Department of Applied Social Sciences in the Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia (UNL), from 1999 (before was lecturer and assistant professor).

-          Researcher at the Institut für Technikfolgenabschätzung und Systemanalyse-Institute for Technology Assessment and Systems Analysis (ITAS) at the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT), from 2011. 

 Education

-          Graduated in Sociology at ISCTE-Institute for Work and Enterprise Sciences (now designated as Lisbon University Institute-IUL) in 1980.

-          Presentation of the dissertation for post-graduate studies at Universidade dos Açores in 1983.

-          Presentation of the Ph.D. thesis at the Universidade Nova Lisboa.

-          Professorship since 1999 for the scientific field of “Sociology” at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology at Universidade Nova de Lisboa (Campus Caparica).

-          Habilitation for Full Professorship (“Agregação”) since 2001.
