The MSc in Paleontology alumnus (former student) Simão Mateus was appointed scientific director of the Dino Parque Lourinhã.

Dino Parque Lourinhã hires Scientific Coordinator
Dino Parque Lourinhã announces the hiring of paleontologist and museologist Simão Mateus.
Simão Mateus, with extensive experience in paleontology and museology, authored several scientific articles, has just assumed the functions of Scientific Coordinator of Dino Parque Lourinhã, becoming responsible for all the coordination of the exhibition of the park, museum area and paleontology laboratory.
Prior to joining the Dino Parque team, Simão Mateus served in the Museum of Science and Natural History of the University of Porto as Curator / Manager of the paleontological collection.
For Simão Mateus, "Dino Parque da Lourinhã is a very attractive project that I will embrace with all my efforts. It is a huge challenge and at the same time a privilege to be part of this project that will contribute to boost the municipality of Lourinhã. "
Simão Mateus has specialized training in the area of Paleontology. He [is a PhD student] from the Faculty of Arts of the University of Porto and has two master's degrees, one MSc in Paleontology from the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of the New University of Lisbon and the University of Évora and another in Museology (Expository Content at the Higher Institute of Labor and Enterprise Sciences - University Institute of Lisbon). He also holds a Bachelor's degree in Zootechnical Engineering from the University of Évora, also having training in Biological Illustration Methods and Techniques at the same University.
He is also the author of several works such as "Dinosaurs of Portugal & Friends" and "Dinosaurs of Lourinhã and Paleontology for Beginners" and was free-lance in Scientific Illustration and Artdesign.
Simão Mateus also joined the Lourinhã Museum team, where he performed various functions including planning of exhibitions and guided tours.
Dino Parque Lourinhã is managed by PDL - Parque de Dinossauros Lda and results from a partnership with the City Council of Lourinhã and with the Group of Ethnology and Archeology of Lourinhã (Lourinhã Museum). This space in full nature, will feature 120 models of dinosaurs and various programs and activities associated with the theme of the Jurassic world.
