The Centro de Apoio Tecnológico à Indústria Metalomecânica (CATIM), or Technology Support Centre to the Metalengineering Industry, is the newest institution to support the Doctoral Program Technology Assessment. After the national Foundation of Science and Technology-FCT, the Brazilian National Research Centre - CNPq, of Karlsruhe Institute of Technology - KIT and Brisa Inovação, the CATIM joined this group to support financially and technically the research for a PhD thesis.

Its mission is the contribution to innovation and competitivity of the national metalengineering industries and complementary sectors.
