Sílvia Rebocho finished her PhD degree at FCT-UNL in 2015 on Sustainable Chemistry. During her PhD project, entitled “Biotransformation/separation routes to obtain pure enantiomers", she worked on the implementation of a new methodology for the separation of enantiomers of secondary alcohols, combining two sustainable technologies – enzymes and supercritical technology using green/natural solvents. After that, she worked as a postdoctoral researcher in a project that involved the production of molecular imprinted polymers, using green technology to explore pharma and biomedical applications. During the last years, she also acquired experience in mentoring and training several students. She is the author and co-author of scientific papers involving enzymatic biocatalysis, supercritical fluid technology, vapor-liquid equilibrium and molecular imprinting techniques. She joined Des.solve team in December of 2018 and she is highly motivated to continue doing research in the area of alternative solvents, namely DES and their applications.
