Jessica Machado graduated in Biochemistry (2014) at School of Sciences and Technology – Lisbon Nova University (FCT-UNL) and obtained her master’s degree in biotechnology by Instituto Superior Técnico (2016). Since then, she worked in the area of microfluidics. At the moment, she is involved in the Des.solve project, mainly in the study of the antioxidant activity´s stabilization by DES and NADES. She believes that DES can be an alternative to the common organic solvents and can be associated to more sustainable chemical processes, even in the industry.
