Carolina Pereira is a Research Fellow at iBET and she has expertise in manipulating human and mouse cell lines in monolayers, 3D culture, Transwell® inserts and suspension models in order to assess the properties of bioactives. Moreover she has knowledge in laboratory techniques such as flow cytometry; RT-qPCR; optical, fluorescence and confocal microscopies. She holds a master degree in Biotechnology and a bachelor in Biomedical Science in Histocellular Pathology.
She participated in 3 national and international research projects and currently is a team member of MultiBiorefinery – Multi‐purpose strategies for broadband agro‐forest and fisheries by‐products valorisation: a step forward for a truly integrated biorefinery (2017-2019, POCI-01-0145-FEDER-016403). Moreover, she has international experience through ERASMUS program and by working as a Biomedical Scientist at Emmy Verschuren Group of Lung Cancer Models Systems FIMM, Helsinki. Carolina participated in 2 publications in international peer-reviewed journals, 1 conference proceeding and 4 posters in scientific meetings.
