Marta Marques obtained her MsC in Chemical and Biochemical Engineering in 2017 from Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia - Universidade Nova de Lisboa. Her master thesis, entitled " The optimization of an adsorption/desorption process for the purification of a natural extract rich in hydroxytyrosol”, was developed under supervision of Doctor Manuel Nunes da Ponte (LAQV-REQUIMTE) and Doctor Ana Nunes (LAQV-REQUIMTE). In 2018 she started her research fellowship in the Biocatalysis and Bioenergy group (LAQV-REQUIMTE) where she started working with supercritical fluids extraction (e.g. supercritical CO2 and subcritical water) for the recovery of bioactive compounds from food industry wastes. Currently, she is working in the extraction of bioactive compounds from different food wastes using deep eutectic systems (DES) for food and cosmetic applications.
