Hugo Monteiro was born in Cascais in 1990 and obtained his MSc degree in Biochemistry at School of Sciences and Technology from NOVA University of Lisboa (2016). During his master thesis, he had the opportunity to develop research based on the search of new natural probes to identify different base pairs of DNA and RNA using photochemical techniques, at Photochemistry and Supramolecular Chemistry Group-FCT-UNL. After finishing his studies, he started to use photochemical approaches to understand some cork properties, in a partnership with Corticeira Amorim and FCT-UNL.
Recently, he increased his knowledge versatility and started working in the bioinformatic field. He worked at ITQB, in Structural Biology Laboratory, where he published his first article, and he was applying computational approaches to obtain structural information of p15-monodiubiquitinated. Currently, he is part of Des.solve group, where he is working with bioinformatic approaches applied to eutectic systems.
