Ângelo Rocha

Post-doctoral Researcher

Ângelo was born in 1986 in Guimarães and graduated, in 2011, in Applied Chemistry at Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia – Universidade Nova de Lisboa. In 2013, he obtained a Master degree in Medicinal and Pharmaceutical Chemistry from Faculdade de Farmácia – Universidade de Lisboa. In 2018, Ângelo finished his PhD in Chemistry at Instituto Superior Técnico – Universidade de Lisboa, in collaboration with Faculdade de Farmácia – Universidade de Lisboa. His PhD research focused on the development of novel synthetic methodologies for enzymatic resolutions. Over the years he worked in many different fields such as unconventional solvents (ionic liquids, supercritical CO2 and eutectic mixtures), analytical chemistry, organic synthesis and continuous flow chemistry. He is currently a Post-Doc at the Des.solve group, LAQV@Requimte from Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia – Universidade Nova de Lisboa, and he is involved in the development of deep eutectic solvents for pharmaceutical and cosmetic applications. He contributed for the publication of 14 research papers and 1 patent.
