The STAYAWAY COVID is an application that runs on iOS and Android mobile phones and is intended to support the country in its efforts to screen for COVID-19. By monitoring the individual most recent contacts, the app allows to know whether one have been exposed to the disease. It is entirely voluntary and free and requires no access to the identity or personal data.

Pandemic times in the light of social sciences

Our societies are being profoundly disrupted by the COVID-19 pandemic. In addition to a health crisis, we are facing a social crisis that must be seen as a moment of fracture, which will entail profound changes on a global scale. The complexity of this phenomenon, in terms of its different dimensions, requires an interdisciplinary response. Thus, the contributions of the social sciences to deal with the pandemic have been as important as, and in many ways complementary to, those of the biomedical sciences.
