Project CryoEM@NOVA has officially started!

Today, is the official start of the 5-year Horizon Europe project CryoEM@NOVA, coordinated by the ERA Chair winner Hartmut "Hudel" Luecke.

This grant will allow the establishment of the first research group in Portugal in the area of ​​Cryo Electron Microscopy (CryoEM) for Structural Biology and Drug Discovery, and over the next five years, to implement and train researchers in CryoEM, an area of ​​enormous impact in biological sciences.

Congratulations to our student Alicia Candeias for successfully defending her MSc thesis in Biochemistry at NOVA School of Science and Technology.
Her thesis entitled "A molecular view on how a commensal bacterium thrives in the human gut" was supervised by Ana Luísa Carvalho, from XTAL, and Angelina Sá Palma, from the GlycoLab.
