TASK 1
State of the Art through 
Published and Unpublished Sources

Task 1 focuses on gathering and synthesising existing knowledge about blooming in TPU-coated fabrics. This will be achieved through a literature review, an online survey to collect oral and unpublished sources from conservation professionals, and visits to textile industries and museum collections.

These activities will help document TPU-coated fabrics production methods, material stratigraphy, and known conservation challenges and strategies.

Key outputs of Task 1 include a Glossary of Terms for TPU-Coated Fabrics, a state-of-the-art, and the creation of a Sample Library to support future research and conservation efforts.
