Biography

Catarina Reis Santos is a Ph.D. fellow in Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage at the Department of Conservation and Restoration and Research Unit VICARTE - Glass and Ceramics for the Arts, at FCT-NOVA (Portugal). She finished her bachelor's degree in 2016 and her master's degree in 2018 in Conservation and Restoration, with a specialization in Glass and Ceramics. As a result of her master's degree, she presented and published her work at an international conference and published an article in a specialized journal. After she finished her master's, she initiated her career as a conservator with the purpose to achieve experience apart from the academic community developing analytical and critical skills, as well as decision-making processes. In 2020 she won a doctoral grant to continue her research work in the field of Portuguese glass arcana and the Portuguese glass industry.
