This project focuses on glass production in Portugal between the 18th and 20th centuries, with the aim of determining the best procedures to be adopted in the conservation legacy. During the period under consideration, the world experienced economic, scientific, and technological changes, which had repercussions on various industries. Specifically, the development of the glass industry in Europe allowed for better control of the raw materials used in glass production and the production techniques used to obtain new types of glass (colored and colorless), in which Portugal also participated. This research will be carried out through the study and reproduction of various glass formulations found in recipe books or arcanos belonging to factories and/or relevant figures in the Portuguese glass industry, using an archaeometric approach to compare existing glass collections in national museums with the glass formulations that were in circulation within the country.
