Biography

Carla Machado finished her Bachelor in 2014 with the degree in Conservation and Restoration at the Conservation and Restoration Department from the Faculty of Science and Technology – NOVA University of Lisbon (DCR/ FCT-UNL), where she also completed her Master (2016) in Conservation and Restoration, with specialization in stained-glass and stained-glass painting materials (namely the grisaille paint). Her research has been focused on materials’ characterization and the study of history and techniques of artistic production of painted glass materials.
Currently, she is undertaking phD studies in Conservation Science at CORES Program (Conservation and Restoration of Cultural Heritage) with the subject “From the texts to the laboratory – a study for the preservation of historical grisailles”.
