Awards from Pepperschool

On the 2nd edition of PEPPERSchool, our PhD students Inês Padrão and Carlos Costa won the Young Researcher contest! Iana Lychko, Henrique Costa and also Inês Padrão won PhD grants for attendance, financed by GFPP (Groupe Français des Peptides et des Protéines) and IM2B (Institute of Microbiology, Bioenergies and Biotechnology) from Aix-Marseille University. Master Thesis defense

André Cecílio presented his thesis on 8/02/2021 to obtain the MSc. degree in Materials Science Engineering. His dissertation was entitled Design of Chitin/Chitosan-based material for CO2 capture. Congratulations André!

Welcome, Rita and Carlos

Already in 2021, we had the pleasure to welcome Rita Alves and Carlos Costa as new members of the group! Rita is a Master student in Biomedical Engineering at Nova School of Science and Technology / FCT NOVA and will be working in the #SCENT_project, and Carlos a PhD Student in Biotechnology that joined the #PURE_project. Good luck to both!

BIOSTEC 2021: Best Paper Award

On the 11th of February, Prof Cecília Roque participated in the virtual edition of BIOSTEC 2021, the 14th International Conference on Biomedical Electronics and Devices where she presented our work about "Fish Gelatin-based Films for Gas Sensing " and that was distinguished with the Best Paper Award.
