Insect Specimen Databases

1- Preparation and publication of an updated dataset of the Insect Collection of the National Museum of Natural History and Science of the University of Lisbon. This dataset is comprised of 39139 collection records, corresponding to about 70450 preserved specimens. The project has contributed to this dataset, especially regarding the insects that present iridescent colour.

2- Publication of the dataset produced by the project, on specimens of the insect collection that present iridescent colour, in the institutional digital repository of the National Museum of Natural History and Science of the University of Lisbon. Photographic records of the specimens acquired during the project are included. This dataset was thoroughly checked and validated and includes a total of 1734 records of iridescent coloured preserved specimens.
