Science Department Staff: Associate Scientist

Joy Mazurek specializes in the identification and characterization of natural and synthetic organic materials by gas chromatography/mass spectrometry and ion chromatography. She also works on the classification of biomarkers produced by microbiological deterioration from a range of cultural heritage materials. She is currently an assistant coordinator for the Scientific Research working group of ICOM-CC. She obtained her MS in biology, with emphasis in microbiology.
