Inês Soares obtained an MSc in Conservation and Restoration of Synthetic Materials, specialising in Conservation Science, from NOVA School of Science and Technology in 2018. From 2018 to 2020, she was a member of the research projects “TheTriumph of Bakelite – Contributions for a History of Plastics in Portugal” (PTDC/IVC-HFC/5174/2014) and “PlasCO2 - Green CO2 Technologies for the Cleaning of Plastics in Museums and Heritage Collections” (PTDC/ART-OUT/29692/2017). In 2020, Inês was awarded a PhD grant to study the suitability of using scCO2 as a solvent and carrier for the consolidation of ester-based polyurethane foams with alkoxysilanes. Her research focuses mainly on synthetic polymers, and her interests include the application of innovative methodologies for the preservation and conservation of modern and contemporary materials.
