David Macário holds a degree in Electronic and Telecommunications Engineering from the University of Aveiro. He possesses extensive industry experience in engineering, process development, research, and innovation management.

His career began in academia as a researcher, subsequently transitioning to industry where he served as a development engineer and project manager within the oil sector. For the past decade, he has dedicated himself to driving innovation within textile industry companies. An idealist and creative thinker, he passionately researches and develops products, seamlessly integrating novel ideas and cutting-edge technologies. His experience in both industry and innovation projects has equipped him with a robust set of technical and interpersonal skills, enabling him to effectively collaborate with diverse teams on multidisciplinary projects.

He currently serves as the Innovation Manager at ERT Têxtil Portugal S.A. and is a doctoral candidate in Electrical Engineering at the University of Aveiro.
