Marc Teboulle is the Eric & Sheila Samson Chair of Optimization at the School of Mathematical Sciences of Tel Aviv University. He received his D.Sc. from the Technion, Israel Institute of Technology. He has held a position of Applied Mathematician at Israel Aircraft Industries, and academic appointments at Dalhousie University and the University of Maryland. His research interests are in continuous optimization, including theory, algorithms, and its applications to many areas of science and engineering. He co-authored the book ``Asymptotic Cones and Functions in Optimization and Variational Inequalities" (Springer Monographs in Mathematics), and he serves on the editorial board of several leading journals such as SIAM Journal of Optimization, ESAIM COCV, and the SIAM Journal on Mathematics of Data Science.
