I started my professional career in financial management, and later followed an academic and professional career in my favourite area, the wood conservation and restoration. In this context, I did a Conservation and Restoration university degree, at Ricardo do Espírito Santo Silva Foundation, School of Decorative Arts and a master’s degree in Conservation Science, Restoration and Production of Contemporary Art, at the University of Lisbon, Faculty of Fine Arts. I am currently a PhD student on Heritage Conservation and Restoration at NOVA School of Science and Technology. Between the several areas related to the Conservation and Restoration of Contemporary Art, my interest is related to wood-based materials used as Contemporary Painting support. My work in this area includes laboratory tests on hardboard (Platex®) samples, at the National Laboratory of Civil Engineering (LNEC), interviews with visual artists and enquiries to National and International Contemporary Art Museums.
