Biography
I hold a bachelor’s in general biology and an MSc in Biophysics from the Science and Research Branch University (SRBIAU) in Iran. During my MSc, I studied Non-Thermal Plasma and its effectiveness in preserving historical paper. This work was done at the centre for international studies and archive of historical documents, on archived documents dating back to the 17th-19th century and containing valuable manuscripts from Iran’s history.
Coming from a country with a long history and culture, I am naturally passionate about Cultural Heritage, and I have devoted my academic path to combining this with science for the preservation of artworks. And I wish to contribute to a better understanding, conservation, and management of cultural heritage for the enjoyment of future generations. Currently, I am a Ph.D. student in Conservation Science at FCT NOVA with a thesis entitled: Towards innovative and green conservation strategies of iron-gall inks in medieval manuscripts.
