Francisca Sousa

Biography

Francisca Sousa is a PhD student at NOVA School of Science and Technology for new media conservation. She holds a master degree in Conservation from NOVA, specialized in Contemporary Art and Preventive Conservation. She worked as a conservator/registrar since 2006 in modern and contemporary art institutions and as a freelance conservator. Since 2013, Francisca is part of the Ernesto de Sousa Center for Multidisciplinary Studies. She is interested in conservation ethics and very experienced in collection management and care. Recently focusing on time-based media conservation through research and training.
