Ana Tourais holds a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree in Conservation and Restoration with a specialization in Graphic Documents (2020), both from the NOVA School of Science and Technology (FCT- NOVA). Her Master’s thesis was done under the scope of the research project Cistercian Horizons and supervised by Professors Conceição Casanova and Catarina Barreira (PI and co-PI). In 2020/2021 Ana worked as a book conservator in three private companies (Barcelona, Groeningen, Lisbon), where she developed practical treatment experience as well as other conservation and business-related skills. Ana is a member of several international associations, has participated in international conferences, and published in peer-reviews journals. In 2022 Ana became a PhD student at the FCT-NOVA to further develop the research on the bindings of the Alcobaça collection. Her work focuses on exploring new topics like the interpretation of the structures and materials identified and the overall conservation of the collection.
