The article "Defining the first preventive conservation guidelines for hand-painted magic lantern glass slides" resulting from the PhD work of Ângela Santos was selected to be the cover of volume 37 of the Conservar Património journal. 

Hand-painted glass slides were used on Magic Lanterns - the first optical instruments for the projection of images - since its invention in the 17th century. These miniature paintings were produced with great mastery using cold paints on a flat glass support, and due to its susceptibilities and consequent conservation problems (e.g. paint discoloration, detachment of the painting layers from the glass, etc.), they are at risk of disappearance. This investigation includes the study of around 300 slides from the collections of Cinemateca Portuguesa-Museu do Cinema and Museu Nacional de História Natural e da Ciência.
