Artur Neves
 won a Fulbright Portugal Award!
His project addresses the challenge of celluloid historic preservation. Celluloid, the first semisynthetic plastic, was invented in the U.S. in 1870 and is now important material culture. Working in the Department of History of the University of Maryland will allow him to get access to American celluloid collections. As an outcome of his investigation, he aims to establish the first celluloid exhibition in Portugal, promoting the search and conservation of a material whose historical importance must be highlighted.
