Historical Mining – Tracing and Learning From Ancient Materials and Mining Technology

MineHeritage intends to reach society on the importance of raw materials through an historical approach. Using Europe as a common foreground, where raw materials have been explored and traded through time, we will show that technological developments increased the demand for certain raw materials, linking regions to social strategies of work and progress. Through the history of mining we will show the importance of raw materials in the development of Europe, European Culture and Society.

O Projecto MineHeritage pretende integrar a sociedade na procura do conhecimento científico e na importância dos materiais e matérias primas para o desenvolvimento da Europa, Cultura Europeia e Sociedade, através de uma perspetiva histórica de valorização do património cultural e natural, através dos diferentes períodos e locais históricos de mineração.

O projecto envolve 13 parceiros (universidades e centros de investigação) de 11 países diferentes, nomeadamente Portugal (coordenador), Croácia, Polónia, França, Itália, Finlândia, Eslováquia, Alemanha, Espanha, Estónia e Bélgica.
