Himanshu Sharma joined the CryoEM@NOVA Horizon Europe project in 2025, taking the role of Leader of the Research Team. Before, Himanshu was Post-Doctoral researcher at the Department of Medical Biochemistry and Biophysics, at Umea University in Sweden. Himanshu brought his research interests to NOVA FCT, where he will pursue his investigation in the infection mechanisms of viruses and obligate eukaryotic parasites using biochemical and structural methods. Before his stay at Umea, Himanshu did his engineering studies, followed by a PhD. During his PhD at the Indian Institute of Technology Guwahati, India, he focused on investigating ribosome biogenesis in prokaryotes using biochemical and transcriptomic methods. His works have been funded by the MSCA postdoctoral fellowship and the National doctoral fellowship.
