We are pleased to announce an exciting opportunity for a Principal Investigator to join the NOVA School of Science and Technology (Caparica, Portugal) as Leader of the Research Team, hired (on a permanent basis) under the ERA Chair project, CryoEM@NOVA, funded by the HORIZON Europe Program.
As Principal Investigator, you will be integrated in Research Unit UCIBIO, leading research in the CRYOEM@NOVA: STRUCTURAL BIOLOGY AND DRUG DISCOVERY Lab, headed by ERA Chair holder Prof. Hartmut Luecke
We are seeking an exceptional candidate to lead our efforts in establishing a cutting-edge biological cryoEM laboratory.
As the Principal Investigator and Leader of the Research Team, you will be responsible for:
• Conducting pioneering research in Structural Biology, focusing on high-resolution cryoEM structure solutions for drug discovery.
• Setting up and managing the entire cryoEM pipeline, from sample preparation to computational analysis.
• Participating in the development and implementation of research programs, translating them into projects for external funding.
• Leading research and development projects and services in the cryoEM field.
• Providing training in cryoEM methodology and supervising graduate and postgraduate students.
• Establishing international collaborations and contributing to science dissemination and public engagement activities.
The contract offers a negotiable gross annual salary of up to €77,000, subject to increment depending on the candidate's experience and objectives/success rate.
