Fernando is guest PhD student from Brazil. He  joined the CryoEM@NOVA team in April 2025 and will remain until March 2026.

Fernando is a biomedical scientist (BSc) and biochemist (MSc). His PhD research focuses on molecular mechanisms in amyloid diseases, including Alzheimer’s, Parkinson’s, and Diabetes.

Through this collaboration with CryoEM@NOVA, he aims to standardize Cryo-EM methods for analyzing amyloid protein structures.
