Daniel graduated with a Bachelor’s in Biochemistry from Universidade do Algarve, in 2024, where he conducted a project of environmental marker identification of plastics through high resolution mass spectrometry. Besides this, he is strongly interested in understanding the structure-activity relation in molecular mechanisms underlying complex cellular machinery specially applied in drug development.
For his Master’s dissertation at NOVA FCT, Daniel aims to research the biogenesis of ribosomes in Mycobacterium smegmatis, a model organism for M. tuberculosis, through structural and biochemical approaches.
Outside the lab, he enjoys going to the gym and gaming.
