In April Cecília Roque and Manuel Matos crossed the Atlantic to attend the 257th American Chemical Society (ACS) National Meeting & Exposition: 'Chemistry for New Frontiers' in Orlando, USA.
The ACS Meetings are the major chemistry related conferences in the world, with around 16.000 attendees from all over the world and more than 7.000 presentations. It englobes not only lectures but has also transversal networking events and career development courses with a strong presence of industrial companies. The program was planned by its 33 technical divisions that cover all scientific fields, secretariats that focus on multidisciplinary programming, and ACS committees.
Manuel presented a poster about the 'Novel adsorbent platform for antibody purification using small synthetic affinity ligands' in the BIOT-Biochemical Technology division of the conference and had also the chance to receive his Excellent Young Researcher Award from Antibodies Journal in hand.
