MSc in Biochemistry since 2019. In her Master thesis she studied the toxicity of Quantum Dots (nanoparticles) using Zebrafish, Daphnia magna, and HepG2 cell line. Currently, she is researcher within the project PAHMIX - Mixtures of Environmental Carcinogens: a molecular approach to improve environmental risk assessment strategies, under the supervison of Professor Marta Martins.

Diana Rodrigues is a Marine Ecologist since 2010. Her Master thesis was focused on fish behaviour and associations with rocky reef habitats. As a research fellow till 2017, she became a fish larvae identification expert, focused in larval development and in their spatial and temporal distribution patterns. She is currently an Environmental and Sustainability PhD student at FCT-UNL. Her PhD thesis is focused on the impacts of microplastic ingestion in marine fish species from Portuguese waters.

Environmental Engineer, specialized in microplastics and marine litter since 2011. Joana has collaborated in national and international projects focused in risk analysis (HERA project) regarding estuarine contamination by heavy metals and in microplastics and marine litter identification, abundance and distribution in the Portuguese beaches, wastewater treatment plants and in biota (BASEMAN project).

Master’s in environmental engineering in the field of environmental systems and a degree in Biology. During her degree, Joana Neves had the opportunity to volunteer in the CUMBFISH project. Her master thesis was developed in the area of environment risk, particularly the study of the effects of the ingestion of microplastics using a marine fish as a model organism. Currently, she is a researcher at MARlab Team within the D4Ss project, under the supervision of Professors Marta Martins and Maria Helena Costa.

NL. Figueiredo has a PhD in Pharmacy (Toxicology) (FFUL), Master degree in Biochemistry (FCUL) and degree in Biology (ISA-UL). Currently is researcher within the Project PAHMIX - a molecular approach to improve environmental risk assessment strategies funded by FCT/MCTES (PTDC/CTA-AMB/29173/2017). NL. Figueiredo expertise is in microbiology and environmental toxicology. Environmental toxicology, especially aquatic toxicology, is a research area focused on the effects of exposures to toxic substances.
