Researchers of UNIDEMI awarded by Autoeuropa

Autoeuropa launched a technological challenge for the development of a non-destructive method able to detect defects in laser brazed joints. The solution presented by Profs Rosa Miranda and Telmo Santos was selected from a set of proposals and awarded a prize. The winner solution aims at implementing a dedicated system designed on the basis of eddy currents and Alternating Current Potential Drop Measurement (ACPDM), increasing the consistency of the technique and allowing to identify all types of defect morphologies possible to occur in the laser welds.
