Pedro Viana Baptista is a Full Professor at the Dept of Life Sciences at FCT-NOVA. PVB established the Nanomedicine Group at UCIBIO Research Unit, and has coordinated and participated in >23 nationally and internationally funded research projects. PVB has more than 20 years of experience on molecular diagnostics using nanotechnology platforms and on RNAi therapeutics using gold nanoparticles for siRNA delivery. PVB has been post-doc adviser of more than 11 young researchers, supervised 15 PhD students and >30 MSc students, publishing 13 book chapters, >200 papers in high-impact multidisciplinary international, 18 invited lectures (two of them in Gordon Conferences in Nanomedicine) and three patents in the field of nanobiosensors. PVB has been an Expert evaluator for Research Projects in Nanomedicine/Nanobiotechnology by International Funding schemes.
In 2012, he won the Prize of Scientific Merit - Prémio Santander-Totta / Universidade Nova Lisboa.
In 2015, PVBaptista is Co-founder of Nano4 Global and the Chief Scientific Officer.
