About me

I’ve always been interested and curious about how the little molecules in our body work in symphony in order for us live. Biotechnology not only teaches me about that whole World, but it also allows me to use that knowledge to apply in biological and artificial methods. With these methods, I hope to help the environment and the people with all sorts of problems.

Current Position

MSc. Student in Biotechnology at FCT-NOVA. Project title: “Odorant Binding Proteins for artificial olfaction and fast diagnostic”

Previous experience

I have done a few internships in FCT and in ITQB in the Biochemistry/Biotechnology area which really helped me understand how a laboratory works and overall team dynamics

2019 - Internship at FCT - NOVA for the Biochemistry degree’s project - "Mode of action of a biocide from S. cerevisiae"

2018 - Internship at ITQB NOVA - "Investigation of the catalytic mechanism of AsP2Ox, a bacterial pyranose 2-oxidase"

2016 - Internship at ITQB NOVA - "How can physiologically high ion concentrations actively stabilize proteins"
