UPCOMING Meetings | 4th Applied Synthetic Biology in Europe (2018) & BIODEVICES 2019

4th Applied Synthetic Biology in Europe
24-26 October 2018 | Toulouse - France

Cecilia Roque, UCIBIO - NOVA University of Lisboa - Portugal, is a member of Scientific Board

Synthetic biology is a young emerging discipline that has emerged from the convergence of biosciences, information technology and engineering. This discipline is slowly but surely revolutionising the Biotech Industry and is increasingly applied in previously unthought-of markets. The fourth meeting in the Applied Synthetic Biology in Europe series will be an excellent opportunity to address the latest progress and advances in this fascinating discipline. Following from the first three meetings in the series, we will explore the wealth of applied synthetic biology research, covering diverse product and application areas and utilising biological systems from bacteria through yeast to plants and mammalian cells. Emphasis will again be on the commonalities and links between different approaches and the application of synthetic biology tools and techniques for industrial implementation. The majority of oral presentations will be selected from submitted abstracts, and will be given by academic and industrial researchers from all levels from PhD students to professors and group leaders, consistent with the multidisciplinary nature of EFB. We look forward to a few days of exciting discussion and excellent science. This will be a joint meeting between the EFB Bioengineering & Bioprocessing Section (EBBS) and the Microbial Physiology Section. There will be opportunity to join these sections and help organise future meetings and events.

Conference topics:
- Genome engineering and synthetic genomic
- Synthetic pathways and Bio (chemical) manufacturing
- Applied protein design and evolution
- Bionanosciences
- Synthetic Biology and Industrial application

BIODEVICES 2019

12th International Conference on Biomedical Electronics and Devices
22-24 February 2019 | Prague - Czech Republic

PROGRAM CHAIR: Ana Cecília Roque, UCIBIO, REQUIMTE, Departamento de Química, Faculdade de Ciências e Tecnologia da Universidade Nova de Lisboa, Portugal

UPCOMING DEADLINES
Regular Paper Submission: October 1, 2018
Regular Paper Authors Notification: November 29, 2018

Regular Paper Camera Ready and Registration: December 13, 2018

The purpose of the International Conference on Bio-Devices is to bring together researchers and practitioners from electronics, mechanical engineering, physics and related areas who are interested in developing, studying and using innovative materials, devices and systems inspired by biological systems and/or addressing biomedical requirements. Monitoring and diagnostics devices, sensors and instrumentation systems, biorobotics and prosthetics, micro-nanotechnologies including microfluidics systems and biomaterials are some of the technologies addressed at this conference. The fabrication and evaluation of biodevices, including wearable and implantable devices is also addressed.
