On the past 13th April 2018, Dr. Inês Matos gave a lecture entitled "Porous carbons: An efficient and sustainable material for catalysis", at University of Évora, under the framework of the Doctoral Course in Chemistry.
Daniela Alexandra Semedo Agostinho defended her MSc thesis entitled "Carragenan aerogels synthesis for controlled delivery systems of pharmaceutical compounds", supervised by Dr. Márcia Ventura and co-supervised by Dr. Ana Nunes, on 8th May 2018. Final grade: 18. Congratulations!
Reminder of the international thematic school PEPPERSchool (PEPTIDE AND PROTEIN ENGINEERING: FROM CONCEPTS TO BIOTECHNOLOGICAL APPLICATIONS) that we are organizing in Carry-le-Rouet (France) on May 13-17th, 2018. This school will gather international experts from the field of peptide/protein chemistry as well as molecular biology methodologies.
It was published on the "Diário da República" the changes to the PhD programme curricular structure. These changes were approved by the Scientific Board of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology (University NOVA Lisbon) in December 2016. They were later registered at the Directorate-General of Higher Education in July 2017 ("As alterações ao ciclo de estudos foram objeto de registo na Direção-Geral do Ensino Superior com o número R/A -Ef 3062/2011/AL01 de 6 de julho de 2017").
Manuel Baumann was our student since 2013 and recently defended his thesis on "Battery storage systems as balancing option in intermittent renewable energy systems - A transdisciplinary approach under the frame of Constructive Technology Assessment" with a very high success. The thesis was supervised by Dr.-Ing. Marcel Weil (KIT) and the main examiners were Prof. Dr. Manuel Costa Matos (University of Porto) and Prof. Dr. Guy Fournier (Pforzheim University of Applied Sciences). The other members of the jury were Prof. Dr. Manuel Laranja (University of Lisbon) Prof. Dr.
Prof. António B. Moniz will provide a series of lectures at University NOVA Lisbon for the PhD programme on Technology Assessment about the topic "Work and Technology under the Industry 4.0 debate".
The lectures will take place at Caparica Campus from 2 to 4 May. Registrations can be made at abm@fct.unl.pt
