The work undertaken by one of our undergrad students, Luís Tanoeiro, on the microbiome of Eulalia resulted in 16S rna tags for novel bacterial strains:
A.P. Rodrigo presented the latest results from GreenTech at this year's IMMR (International Meeting on Marine Research), at Peniche, Portugal,(an oral communication). We highlight the work done to charcterise new fluorophores from Eulalia. See further details here: 10.3389/conf.FMARS.2018.06.00015.
Projects GreenTech (ongoing) and WormALL (beginning next october) offer positions (stipend and contract) do post-doc researchers, preferentially with expertise in Marine Biology or related field. These are multidisciplinary research projects dedicated to Marine Biotechnology (especially bioprospection for novel natural products, with emphasis on toxins), Ecology, Molecular Biology, Marine Animal Physiology & Aquatic Toxicology. Previous expertise in one of these disciplines is most welcome.
The Journal of Chemical & Engineering Data launched a Special Issue Emerging Investigators, which focuses on 25 researchers who will be defining the field of chemical thermodynamics over the coming decades.
Next August 2018, Des.solve will be present in some scientific events, such as the 7th EuCheMS Chemistry Congress (Liverpool, UK), the 10th EuCheMS Organic Division Young Investigators Workshop (Oxford, UK) and the BioBarriers 2018 (Saarbrücken, Germany).
The Des.solve Research Group is organizing the 1st International Meeting on Deep Eutectic Solvents, which will occur in Lisbon next year, from 24 to 27 June. More information soon.
