João has a PhD and a MSc in Civil Engineering from IST, University of Lisbon and he is the coordinator of the Research Area: Sustainable Cementitious Materials & Innovation in Manufacturing of c5Lab. João is actively involved in several national and international projects on sustainable concrete mix design and structural concrete assessment and design. João is a member of the fib Task Group 4.7: Structural Applications of Recycled Aggregate Concrete. His research interests are: structural behaviour and analysis of concrete, industrial production of cementitious products, concrete science, 3D printing of concrete.
