Ana Aguiar Ricardo

Ana Aguiar-Ricardo is a Full Professor of Chemical & Biochemical Engineering with expertise in the field of green chemistry and supercritical fluid technology targeting (bio)polymer synthesis, processing, and functionalization design. Her primary research focus has been the development of greener chemical processing platforms for non-invasive drug delivery and for (bio)separation processes. Within her research, she was co-author of more than 100 papers in scientific journals with peer review and 5 book chapters (h-index 24). Co-supervised 15 PhD thesis. Her scientific work has been distinguished with several awards and she was the winner of the Solvay & Hovione Ideas Challenge SHIC’08 and SHIC’11 Prize‐ Hovione prizes in 2008 and in 2011. Currently, she is the Director of Chemistry Department at FCT NOVA, member of the scientific board of Doctoral Program in Sustainable Chemistry, member of the scientific board of LAQV-REQUIMTE, and the chair of the EuChemS Division on Green and Sustainable Chemistry (2019-2021).
