The Second Steering Comitee Meeting was organised by the Polytechnic University of Madrid on 26-27 November 2019. The first day was dedicated to the presentations of the activities developed by the project partners.

First day: General overview of the MineHeritage Project

The second day was dedicated to the visit to the Almadén mines of mercury. The Almadén Mining Park is the living inheritance of two thousand years of mining operation at Almadén. After closing the mining activity in 2003, now this heritage, among the oldest mines in the world kept in operation until recently, show us their secrets. The Mining Park's facilities, shafts, drifts and buildings are at the heart of Spanish sites on the World Heritage list, under the name Heritage of Mercury, Almadén and Idrija.
