Silvia Ferreira

Sílvia Ferreira is graduated in Philosophy, has a master degree in Art History and a PhD in the same area of studies. In recent years she has collaborated on several research projects related to wood carved altarpieces in Portugal, mainly in Lisbon, which included courses, seminars, conferences and publications. She also participates in several research projects in the wider context of religious history, particularly in the context of the history of religious orders and brotherhoods of Lisbon from the Sixteenth to Eighteenth centuries. Presently, she is involved in a major project in the area of heritage and art history financed by the Portuguese Science and Technology Foundation (PTCO/EAT-EAT/099160/2009), focused in the iconography of the city of Lisbon before the great Earthquake of 1755.
