Mani Outis started his Chemistry studies in 2011, he obtained a bachelor in Applied Chemistry/Organic Profile at the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of New University of Lisbon (FCT-UNL) in 2014, with a final year research project entitled "Synthesis and Characterization of Fluorescent Ionic Liquids”.  In 2016 Mani finished his master degree in Bioorganic Chemistry at the same faculty in Photochemistry and Supramolecular Chemistry research group with a thesis entitled "Polynuclear Luminescent Complexes based on Cuprous Iodide and Aromatic Organophosphines".

The main interest of his research is Synthesis of photoluminescent materials supported by various Spectroscopic Characterization Techniques such as Raman Spectroscopy and Spectrofluorimetry. Currently Mani is working at the Photochemistry and Supramolecular Chemistry Research Group with a close collaboration with the Coordination and Organometalic Chemistry group of FCT-UNL in order to develop Luminescent Cupper(I) complexes as mono and polynuclear species by synthesizing specific designed organic ligands and coordination complexes.
