First Think Tank on Digital Health Skills

  

 

Last 5th July 2023, the Seminar on “What digital skills for health professionals?” was hosted by the UNL team, at the NOVA School of Science and Technology.

It is the first initiative of many in the future, aimed at promoting the discussion on Digital Health Innovation in Portugal and in the World, within the scope of the preconized action of "eHospital4Future - Building future through an innovated and digital skilled hospital", co-funded by EU4Health - European Commission.

The scientific meeting was attended by about 2 dozen of specialists and key-actors, as important key-informants on the national setting. The event counted with the collaboration of the WHO Collaborating Center for Health Workforce Policy and Planning of the IHMT/UNL.

The event comprised a Focus Group exercise for identify and prioritize key digital skills and related to be developed. For preliminary results, the participants highlighted as of major importance: communication skills between the various health professionals and with patients, project management, among other specific technical skills (e.g. digital literacy in systems security and artificial intelligence), emphasizing agile approaches to dynamizing work in a multidisciplinary team.

The proposal is to continue to promote this debate, in the context of the Digital Health Think Tank, around challenges and opportunities, in the context of the European Health Data Space, and innovation in Digital Health. Next event will take place during the Fall.
