Sónia Viegas holds a Bachelor's degree in Industrial Management Engineering with a specialization in Instrumentation and Control, which she completed in 2000. In 2011, she earned her Master's in Industrial Systems Integration and is currently dedicated to pursuing a PhD in Biomedical Engineering.

Throughout her professional journey, Sónia has actively engaged in various Management and Engineering roles. Her experience has been predominantly within Service Buildings, though she has also ventured into the Industrial sector. She has been actively involved in projects related to Automation Systems, Management of Technical Installations, Integrated Maintenance Management, Security, and Energy Efficiency.

Presently, Sónia is a member of the NOVA Medical School, where she is integrated into the Education Office. In this capacity, she collaborates across a wide spectrum of activities, including developing teaching methods, using simulation, and advancing Medical Education and Health Sciences.
