Workshop on Computational Protein Design for Biotech Applications

The first edition of the Workshop on Computational Protein Design for Biotech Applications took place between 13th and 15th of September, at FCT NOVA.

During the course, participants debated their own scientific issues with invited experts and explored the provided tools to analyze and integrate theoretical results during hands-on sessions.

Scientific Board of NovaFCT approves PDAT-2

October 6, 2016

The Scientific Board of the Faculty of Sciences and Technology of Universidade Nova approved the proposal sent by Department of Applied Social Sciences for restructuring the Doctoral Programme on TA (PDAT). The proposal was sent to the national Agency of High Education (A3ES).

The course structure (60 ECTS) will have less units, and is designed to be completed in one year. The other changes already announced are still in the proposal.

MUSOT - Edição 15/16 vai a Barcelona

A Edição 2015/16, agora no 2º ano do curso, vai este mês a Barcelona em visita técnica. Vamos analisar projectos de boa prática em sustentabilidade urbana e conta com o apoio de várias entidades locais. 

Os custos  já estão incluídos na matrícula no MUSOT.

MUSOT - Já Começou a Edição 2016/17

Iniciaram-se com 20 alunos as aulas do MUSOT, edição 2016-17. Decorrem na FCSH. A turma é muito boa e existem formações de base bastante diversificadas (Arquitectura, Urbanismo, Sociologia, Geografia, Engenharia Civil, etc.). A variedade de origens geográficas e de experiências é muito enriquecedora. 

A Coordenação deseja a todos os novos alunos votos de um bom processo de aprendizágem em clima de grande qualidade. Está naturalmente à inteira disposição.

A secção temática Conhecimento, Ciência e Tecnologia da Associação Portuguesa de Sociologia vai passar a estar associada aos eventos públicos do programa doutoral. Será feita a divulgação dos eventos (Escola de Inverno e Conferência Doutoral, entre outros), e haverá espaço para os membros da secção apresentarem os seus trabalhos e participarem nos debates.

Trata-se de uma colaboração que se pretende manter e vir a ser ampliada.

FCT-UNL researchers with STOA projects

Three researchers from the IET pole of CICS.NOVA at FCT-UNL are involved in two European Parliament Technology Assessment office (STOA) projects.

One is a project on "Assistive technologies for the inclusion of people with disabilities in society, education and jobs" and has Maria João Maia (PhD student of the UNL programme on TA) as project researcher. She is working in the ITAS-KIT team.

Restructuring of the PhD program approved at DCSA

The DCSA Department Council approved the proposal for restructuring the doctoral programme on TA. It includes a reduction in the number of compulsory disciplines, and the introduction of national and international cooperation tracks:

  1. The Joint Doctoral Initiative with the Karlsruhe Institute of Technology
  2. The track on "Health Technology Assessment"
  3. The track on "Governance of Technology Assessment" with the University of Liège
