Applications

There are several applications envisaged within the INVISIBLE project. After the optimization of n- and p-type oxide semiconductors, TCOs and insulators, in INVISIBLE we are aiming to develop:

Inverters, ring-oscillators

Transparent ICs including CMOS technology

TFT array for biosensors

TFT array for displays

(a) – Transparent n-type oxide TFTs on a glass substrate; (b) – Transparent active matrix backplane for an LCD, developed in the framework of Multiflexioxides European project; (c) – Transparent ICs employing n- and p-type oxide TFTs (under development).

Based on this many other applications are possible, not necessarily taking advantage of transparency, but rather on the excellent performance, low cost and low temperature processing of multicomponent oxide (semi)conductors:
